Overview

FortiGuard DLP on the FortiWeb 400F inspects both request and response bodies over HTTP and HTTPS. Because FortiWeb handles SSL/TLS termination, the DLP engine sees decrypted payload content and matches against FortiGuard-maintained pattern libraries for regulated data categories. When a response triggers a DLP policy, FortiWeb can block the transmission, return a sanitized response, or log the event for investigation. Pattern libraries are maintained and updated through the FortiGuard subscription, so new regulatory data categories and emerging exfiltration patterns are incorporated without requiring manual policy edits. Inspection applies to all web application traffic processed by the FortiWeb 400F appliance.
