How to read this page

What End of Order, last renewal and End of Support mean

Fortinet retires products in stages. A unit is Legacy (still supported and renewable) between End of Order and its Last Service Extension Date, and becomes end-of-life once that renewal date passes, then support ends at the End of Support date. The Status column on every model below shows exactly where it stands today.

EOO

End of Order

The last date the hardware could be ordered new from Fortinet. After this, the model is no longer sold as new.

LSED

Last Service Extension

The last date you can buy or renew FortiCare support on the unit. This is the deadline that matters: after it, the device cannot be renewed.

EOS

End of Support (EOL)

The final date Fortinet provides support, firmware and security updates. After this the device is fully end-of-life.

Your Fortinet device is end-of-life. What now?

  1. Check your renewal window. If you are before the Last Service Extension Date, you can still renew FortiCare. Past it, renewal is no longer possible and you should plan a replacement.
  2. Right-size a current model. Move to the current-generation equivalent. We map your old model to the closest current FortiGate, FortiAP, FortiSwitch or other unit, sized for your actual load, not just the spec sheet.
  3. Migrate the configuration. FortiConverter moves your firewall policies to the new FortiGate with far less manual rework, so cutover is quick and clean.

No more security updates

Once a model passes End of Support, it stops receiving firmware and FortiGuard signature updates. New vulnerabilities will not be patched.

Compliance and insurance gaps

Unsupported security hardware often fails audit, cyber-insurance and regulatory requirements that mandate vendor-supported equipment.

No RMA or TAC

After End of Support there is no hardware replacement (RMA) and no Fortinet technical support if the unit fails or misbehaves.

Fortinet end-of-life, common questions

It means the product has passed its Last Service Extension Date and can no longer be renewed, and is at or near its End of Support date, after which Fortinet no longer provides firmware, security updates, support or hardware replacement.

End of Order (EOO) is the last date the hardware could be bought new. Last Service Extension Date (LSED) is the last date you can renew FortiCare support. End of Support (EOS) is the final date Fortinet supports the product. A unit is legacy between EOO and LSED, and end-of-life after LSED.

If the model is past its Last Service Extension Date, FortiCare can no longer be renewed. If it is before that date, renewal is still possible. Send us the model or serial number and we will confirm exactly where it stands.
