FortiToken is the client component of Fortinet's multi-factor authentication. A user proves their identity with a second factor — a one-time password (software or hardware), a PKI certificate, or a FIDO passwordless security key — which is validated by FortiGate, FortiAuthenticator or FortiToken Cloud before access is granted.
FortiToken Mobile is a software app (iOS, Android, Windows) licensed per user — the cheapest, fastest way to deploy MFA at scale, with push approval. Hardware tokens suit users without a smartphone or higher-security needs: the 210 is an OTP key-fob, the 310 is a USB PKI smart card, and the 410/411 are FIDO passwordless security keys.
Both are FIDO U2F / FIDO2 passwordless security keys. The FortiToken 410 uses a USB-A (Type-A) connector; the FortiToken 411 uses USB-C and succeeds the 410 for modern laptops, tablets and phones. Choose the connector that matches your devices.
