The FortiWiFi 40F is the integrated-wireless model in the FortiGate 40F series. It pairs the 40F platform's SoC4 secure SD-WAN ASIC — 600 Mbps threat protection, 5 Gbps firewall throughput, 700,000 concurrent sessions — with single-radio 802.11ac Wave 2 (Wi-Fi 5) wireless, giving a small office secure wired and wireless access from one desktop unit. It is now end-of-order: hardware is no longer sold new, but subscriptions renew normally on installed units. For new deployments, the current FortiWiFi 50G or FortiWiFi 70G deliver the same role with Wi-Fi 6 on Fortinet's SP5 platform.

The FortiWiFi 50G is the closest current-generation desktop replacement with integrated Wi-Fi 6 on Fortinet’s SP5 platform; the FortiWiFi 70G steps up performance. If you need cellular failover, look at the FortiWiFi 40F-3G4G line.
