What the FortiWiFi 70G is for

The FortiWiFi 70G adds an integrated dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point to the FortiGate 70G platform. It delivers 1.3 Gbps threat protection and 10 Gbps firewall throughput while eliminating the need for a separate wireless AP — ideal for distributed enterprise branches that need higher-density wired and wireless security in a single compact desktop appliance. With 10 GE RJ45 ports (including 2 WAN and 2 FortiLink), the FWF-70G provides more interface density than the 50G series.

Secure SD-WAN and Universal ZTNA are built into FortiOS at no extra cost. The two FortiLink GE RJ45 ports extend security to up to 24 FortiSwitches and 96 FortiAPs from a single management plane. The wireless radio delivers Wi-Fi 6 across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz with dual-stream MU-MIMO via three external SMA antenna ports.

The built-in dual radio supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax (Wi-Fi 6) across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Three external SMA antenna ports accept the included dual-band antennas. The FortiWiFi 70G can also manage up to 96 additional FortiAPs in tunnel mode via its two FortiLink ports.

The 70G series delivers significantly higher throughput (1.3 Gbps vs 1.1 Gbps threat protection; 10 Gbps vs 5 Gbps firewall), a larger session table (1.4 M vs 720K), more ports (10 vs 5 GE RJ45), double the FortiLink ports (2 vs 1), and a much higher FortiAP capacity (96 vs 16). Choose the 70G for larger branches or higher-density wireless environments.
