The FortiGate 70G is a compact desktop next-generation firewall for busy branch, retail and campus-edge sites. It pairs ten Gigabit Ethernet ports with Fortinet's SP5 secure SD-WAN ASIC to deliver 1.3 Gbps of threat protection, 10 Gbps firewall throughput, 1.4 million concurrent sessions and 1.4 Gbps of SSL inspection in a fanless desktop unit. It runs FortiOS with built-in SD-WAN and ZTNA enforcement, with no add-on license needed for those features, and includes a Trusted Platform Module and signed-firmware switch for hardware-rooted security. Two ports are dedicated WAN, two are FortiLink for attaching FortiSwitch and FortiAP, and the rest are internal/LAN. For PoE, choose the 70G-PoE; for onboard logging storage, the 71G; for built-in Wi-Fi 6, the FortiWiFi 70G.

The 70G sits in the middle of the desktop G-series. Step down to the 50G for smaller sites, or up to the 90G for higher throughput and session capacity. Same FortiOS and FortiGuard services across the range.

Mount the 70G on a desk, in a rack tray, or on a DIN rail.
The 70G is a current-generation ‘G’ series FortiGate built on the SP5 secure SD-WAN ASIC, fully supported with active FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions. It is the base desktop model in the 70G line.
The 70G delivers 10 Gbps firewall throughput, 2.5 Gbps IPS, 1.5 Gbps NGFW, 1.3 Gbps threat protection and 1.4 Gbps SSL inspection, with 1.4 million concurrent sessions and 100,000 new sessions per second.
Ten Gigabit Ethernet (GE RJ45) ports: 2 WAN, 2 FortiLink and 6 internal / LAN, plus one USB port and one RJ45 console port. The 70G has no SFP fiber slots; for PoE choose the 70G-PoE.
The 71G adds a 64 GB onboard SSD for local logging and storage. Performance, ports and the fanless chassis are otherwise identical. For PoE choose the 70G-PoE; for built-in Wi-Fi 6 choose the FortiWiFi 70G.
