The FortiGate 70G-PoE is a compact desktop next-generation firewall that brings Power over Ethernet to the 70G platform. Four of its Gigabit RJ45 ports deliver PoE / PoE+ (IEEE 802.3af/at) from a 60 W total power budget, so a branch or small office can power downstream access points, IP phones and cameras straight from the firewall, with no separate PoE switch or injector. Built on Fortinet's SP5 secure SD-WAN ASIC, it delivers 1.3 Gbps of threat protection, 10 Gbps firewall throughput, 1.4 million concurrent sessions and 1.4 Gbps of SSL inspection. It runs FortiOS with built-in SD-WAN and ZTNA enforcement at no extra license cost, and ships in the same fanless desktop chassis as the base 70G. The PoE ports are the difference from the 70G; for onboard logging storage as well, the 71G-PoE adds a 64 GB SSD.

Mount the 70G-PoE on a desk, in a rack tray, or on a DIN rail.
The 70G-PoE is a current-generation ‘G’ series FortiGate built on the SP5 secure SD-WAN ASIC, fully supported with active FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions. It is the Power-over-Ethernet variant of the 70G desktop line.
Four of its Gigabit RJ45 ports deliver PoE / PoE+ power (IEEE 802.3af/at) from a 60 W total power budget, so you can run downstream access points, IP phones or cameras straight from the firewall with no separate PoE switch or injector.
Ten Gigabit Ethernet (GE RJ45) ports: 2 WAN, 4 PoE / PoE+, and 4 internal / LAN, plus one USB port and one RJ45 console port.
Security performance is identical, since both use the same SP5 platform: 10 Gbps firewall, 1.3 Gbps threat protection, 1.4 million sessions and 1.4 Gbps SSL inspection. The 70G-PoE adds four PoE / PoE+ ports with a 60 W power budget. For onboard logging storage as well, choose the 71G-PoE.
