Product description

When an IT team first takes on a Fortinet deployment at a site with operational technology, a 1-year OT Security subscription is a practical way to validate the service before committing to a longer term. The FC-10-FW70G-159-02-12 activates FortiGuard OT Security on the FortiWiFi 70G for 12 months, adding ICS/SCADA detection, OT virtual patching, asset vulnerability correlation, and compliance dashboards to the existing firewall without replacing any hardware.

What OT Security Activates

Once registered, the FortiGuard OT engine classifies industrial protocol traffic passing through the 70G, identifying connected OT assets and mapping them against a continuously-updated vulnerability database. Virtual patching signatures block exploit attempts against known CVEs in industrial devices without taking those devices offline. OT dashboards surface asset inventories and anomaly data that can feed into compliance workflows for frameworks such as IEC 62443 or NERC CIP.

Where the FortiWiFi 70G Fits

This platform is aimed at small-to-medium sites that need both wired OT visibility and integrated wireless coverage. Its built-in WiFi 6 radio means wireless industrial endpoints, handheld scanners, and sensors on the floor are treated with the same inspection policy as wired devices. A single FortiWiFi 70G can handle the IT/OT convergence point without requiring a separate wireless access point.

Delivery

DataCenter360.ca delivers the license key electronically within 0-1 business days. Registration happens in the FortiGuard portal or through FortiManager for centrally-managed deployments. No site visit is required, and the OT engine activates on the next FortiGuard sync.

Longer Terms

If the 1-year evaluation goes well, the same service is available in 3-year and 5-year terms for the FortiWiFi 70G. Renewing to a multi-year term reduces per-year cost and removes the annual renewal task from your calendar.

Buying from DataCenter360.ca

DataCenter360.ca is a Fortinet Select Partner and MSSP focused on the Canadian market. We have placed OT and IT security licenses with manufacturing, utilities, and professional services clients since before the Fortinet OT product line existed in its current form. Questions about aligning OT Security with existing FortiCare contracts or FortiManager policies are handled by the same team that processes your order.

Does the FortiWiFi 70G need to be physically near OT equipment to inspect traffic?
The FortiWiFi 70G inspects traffic that passes through it as the network gateway or segmentation point. OT devices do not need to be in direct physical proximity — they need to route their traffic through the 70G for OT Security inspection to apply. In many deployments, the 70G sits at the IT/OT convergence point where both network segments meet.

What industrial protocols are covered?
FortiGuard OT Security includes detection signatures for Modbus, DNP3, EtherNet/IP, IEC 61850, BACnet, and a range of vendor-specific protocols. The list expands with FortiGuard database updates over the subscription term.

Is this subscription available to organizations outside Canada?
Yes. FC-10-FW70G-159-02-12 is a worldwide e-delivery license. DataCenter360.ca ships it electronically and FortiGuard activation works from any country.

Can OT Security coexist with a standalone IPS subscription on the same 70G?
Yes. OT Security and IPS subscriptions operate independently on the same unit. OT Security covers industrial protocol detection and OT-specific virtual patching, while IPS handles general enterprise threat signatures. Both run simultaneously with no conflict.

What happens to OT inspection when the 1-year subscription expires?
The OT engine continues running but stops receiving updated signatures and vulnerability data from FortiGuard. Detection coverage degrades over time as new industrial CVEs are not added. Most organizations renew before expiry to maintain detection accuracy against current threats.
