The FortiWiFi 50G is a current-generation ‘G’ series appliance, fully supported with active FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions. It is Fortinet’s compact desktop firewall with all-Gigabit Ethernet and an integrated Wi-Fi 6 access point for small-office and branch sites.
Five Gigabit RJ45 ports (one WAN, three internal, and one FortiLink), plus a USB and an RJ45 console port. A built-in dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point uses three SMA antennas. The base model has no SFP or DSL port; choose the FortiWiFi 50G-SFP or 50G-DSL for those WAN types.
The security performance and ports are the same. The FortiWiFi 50G adds an integrated dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point with three antennas, so one unit handles firewall, SD-WAN, and wireless. The FortiGate 50G is wired-only, with no Wi-Fi.
Most sites choose UTP for web, DNS, and video filtering on top of IPS and anti-malware. ATP covers core threat protection only. Enterprise adds the full SASE and security service set. Hardware-plus-bundle SKUs are listed below by term.
