The FortiWiFi 50G-SFP is a compact desktop next-generation firewall that adds a Gigabit SFP fiber WAN slot to the 50G platform, alongside an integrated Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point. Built on Fortinet's SP5 secure SD-WAN ASIC, it delivers 1.1 Gbps of threat protection, 5 Gbps firewall throughput, 720,000 concurrent sessions, and integrated SD-WAN. The SFP slot connects to fiber or a fiber-fed uplink, so a branch on a fiber circuit gets firewall, SD-WAN, and on-site Wi-Fi 6 from one appliance. Gigabit RJ45 ports are also available for copper uplinks and the local LAN.

The FortiWiFi 50G-SFP is a current-generation ‘G’ series appliance, fully supported with active FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions. It is Fortinet’s compact desktop firewall that adds a Gigabit SFP fiber slot to the 50G platform and includes an integrated Wi-Fi 6 access point for branch and small-office sites.
It has a Gigabit RJ45 WAN port and a Gigabit SFP slot for a fiber transceiver, so it connects to either a copper or a fiber uplink. Three more Gigabit RJ45 ports and a FortiLink port handle the local LAN and connect FortiSwitch and FortiAP.
The security performance, ports, and SFP slot are the same. The FortiWiFi 50G-SFP adds an integrated dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point with three antennas, so one unit handles firewall, SD-WAN, fiber WAN, and wireless. The FortiGate 50G-SFP is wired-only, with no Wi-Fi.
Most sites choose UTP for web, DNS, and video filtering on top of IPS and anti-malware. ATP covers core threat protection only. Enterprise adds the full SASE and security service set. Hardware-plus-bundle SKUs are listed below by term.
