This SKU (FC-10-WS50G-247-02-12) provides the complete FortiCare Premium feature set, 24×7 TAC and NBD RMA, on a 12-month term.

What FortiCare Premium Covers

FortiCare Premium provides 24×7 telephone and web-portal access to Fortinet TAC, with a 2-hour response commitment for critical (P1) cases. Next-business-day hardware replacement means a failed FWF-50G-SFP-A is replaced by the following business day. Firmware updates remain accessible throughout the active contract, allowing the appliance to stay current with security patches and platform improvements. All of this applies whether the issue arises at 2pm on a Tuesday or 2am on a Sunday.

FortiCare Premium does not include FortiGuard threat feeds or filtering services (IPS, AV, DNS, web filtering). Those are delivered separately through a FortiGuard bundle subscription.

Annual FortiCare contracts work well for organizations that align their IT subscription spending to a fiscal year. Renewing annually gives the flexibility to evaluate hardware refresh options each year, rather than being committed to a unit for three to five years. It is also the most practical option for units acquired mid-year where a multi-year term would run past a planned refresh window. New appliance deployments that did not include a FortiCare bundle at purchase typically start with a 1-year contract.

Activation and Delivery

FortiCare licenses are electronic. After your order is processed, DataCenter360.ca delivers the license key via email within 0-1 business days. You register the key on the Fortinet support portal at support.fortinet.com, linked to the serial number of the FWF-50G-SFP-A. If the unit already has an active FortiCare contract, the new 1-year term stacks at the end of the existing period. This SKU is available internationally with no geographic restrictions.

Standalone FortiCare vs a Bundle Subscription

The 1-year UTP bundle (FC-10-WS50G-950-02-12) and Enterprise bundle (FC-10-WS50G-809-02-12) each combine FortiCare Premium with FortiGuard security services at a bundled price. If the FWF-50G-SFP-A needs both FortiCare and active threat protection, starting with a bundle is usually the better value. The standalone FortiCare 1-year (this SKU) is the right choice when only the support contract needs renewing and FortiGuard services are already covered under a separate or longer subscription.
