This SKU (FC-10-WS50G-247-02-36) delivers the same 24×7 TAC access, next-business-day RMA, and firmware update rights as the 1-year version, but spreads the cost across three fiscal periods. For sites where the FWF-50G-SFP-A is expected to run for two to four years, a 3-year contract avoids renewal gaps that can leave a device temporarily unsupported.

What FortiCare Premium Covers

FortiCare Premium activates 24×7 phone and web-portal support with a 2-hour response target on critical (P1) cases. It also includes next-business-day hardware replacement: if the physical appliance fails, Fortinet ships a replacement unit before the following business day. Firmware update access stays active for the full 3-year term, which matters because Fortinet’s OS updates are tied to an active support contract. Without a valid FortiCare license, the unit cannot download new firmware releases.
