The FortiGate 50G-SFP is a compact, fanless desktop next-generation firewall built on Fortinet’s FortiSP5 ASIC. It is identical to the FortiGate 50G in performance, adding a GE SFP port as a dedicated fibre WAN or secondary WAN interface alongside the standard GE RJ45 WAN port. This makes it the right choice when your ISP delivers an SFP handoff (such as GPON ONT or metro Ethernet) or when you want an SFP uplink for SD-WAN dual-WAN failover.
The appliance delivers 1.1 Gbps of threat protection, 5 Gbps firewall throughput, and 720,000 concurrent sessions. Secure SD-WAN and Universal ZTNA are built into FortiOS. The FortiLink GE RJ45 port lets you consolidate up to 8 FortiSwitches and 16 FortiAPs into a single management plane.
