The FortiGate 50G-SFP-POE is a compact desktop next-generation firewall that combines a Gigabit SFP fiber slot with four PoE+ ports, so a branch or small office can take a fiber WAN handoff and power downstream access points, IP phones, and cameras without a separate PoE switch or injector. Built on Fortinet's SP5 secure SD-WAN ASIC, it delivers 1.1 Gbps of threat protection, 5 Gbps firewall throughput, 720,000 concurrent sessions, and 1.3 Gbps of SSL inspection. It runs FortiOS with built-in SD-WAN and ZTNA enforcement, and connects to a fiber ONT, a fiber-fed switch, or a longer-distance fiber link through the SFP slot. The four PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) ports remove the need for extra cabling hardware at the edge. The SFP slot accepts standard 1 Gbps transceivers (sold separately).

The 50G-SFP-POE is a current-generation ‘G’ series FortiGate built on the SP5 secure SD-WAN ASIC, fully supported with active FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions. It is the SFP-fiber-plus-PoE variant of the 50G desktop line.
Four of its Gigabit RJ45 ports deliver PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) power, so you can run downstream access points, IP phones, or cameras straight from the firewall with no separate PoE switch or injector.
It is a 1 Gigabit SFP slot for a fiber WAN uplink or handoff, connecting to a fiber ONT, a fiber-fed Ethernet switch, or a longer-distance fiber backbone link. The SFP transceiver is sold separately so you can match it to your fiber run.
The 50G-SFP-POE adds both the SFP fiber slot and four PoE+ ports; the base 50G is copper-only and the 50G-SFP adds fiber without PoE. Security performance is identical across the line: 1.1 Gbps threat protection, 5 Gbps firewall, 720,000 sessions, 1.3 Gbps SSL inspection. The 51G-SFP-POE adds a 64 GB SSD.
