The subscription entitles you to the conversion for one device during the term, with Fortinet’s tooling and process doing the translation that is slow and error-prone to attempt by hand.

Anyone retiring a competitor’s firewall, or an older FortiGate, in favour of a 50G-SFP-PoE and carrying a non-trivial ruleset is the audience. It earns its keep when the existing policy base is large or sensitive enough that a manual rebuild would invite mistakes or stretch the downtime window during the swap.

Activation and delivery

The service is delivered electronically and registered to your Fortinet account against the 50G-SFP-PoE. Nothing ships. Because it is a migration entitlement rather than an ongoing protection subscription, its work is essentially finished once the conversion is complete. The license is valid worldwide.
