What the subscription provides

FortiGate Cloud is Fortinet’s hosted management and analytics platform for FortiGate appliances. This one-year license lets the 50G-SFP-PoE push and restore its configuration, surface device and traffic health, and generate scheduled reports from a central portal. It also includes one year of cloud log retention, so recent activity stays searchable for troubleshooting and review.

Who needs it

Single-site businesses and managed providers both use this to administer the 50G-SFP-PoE without sitting on the LAN. It is a sensible first subscription when visibility and control matter more than deep packet inspection, and the one-year term is a low-commitment way to try cloud management before moving to a longer span.

Activation and delivery

Delivery is electronic. You register the license in your FortiCloud account and attach it to the firewall by serial number, and the device starts reporting in. No box ships, and the portal is reachable from any country.

This line manages and reports; it does not inspect traffic for threats. Where a site needs IPS, antivirus, or web and application filtering, those features come from the UTP or Enterprise subscriptions and stack on top of cloud management.
