• OT Vulnerability Correlation and Virtual Patching: As new OT CVEs are published, FortiGuard Labs develops IPS-based virtual patches. These deploy to the appliance automatically and block exploit attempts against the affected OT device types, providing protection without touching the OT hardware itself.
• OT Application Control and IPS Signatures: Specialized signatures for industrial protocols, including Modbus, DNP3, BACnet, and others, enable the FortiGate to detect malformed commands, unauthorized protocol use, and attack patterns specific to operational technology networks.
