The FortiGate 31G is a compact, desktop next-generation firewall built on Fortinet's SoC4 secure SD-WAN ASIC. It is the FortiGate 30G appliance with a 30 GB onboard SSD added for local logging. It delivers 500 Mbps of threat protection, 4 Gbps firewall throughput, 600,000 concurrent sessions, and integrated SD-WAN in a fanless desktop unit with four GE RJ45 ports, ideal for small branch sites that want on-box logs without sending everything to FortiAnalyzer.

The 31G is a current-generation ‘G’ series FortiGate, fully supported with active FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions. It is the FortiGate 30G appliance with a 30 GB onboard SSD added.
Performance is identical. The 31G adds a 30 GB onboard SSD for local logging and reporting; the 30G has no onboard storage. Choose the 31G when you want on-box logs.
No. The FortiGate 31G is wired-only. For an integrated Wi-Fi 6 access point plus the 30 GB SSD, choose the FortiWiFi 31G.
Most small sites choose UTP for web, DNS, and video filtering on top of IPS and anti-malware. ATP covers core threat protection only. Enterprise adds the full SASE and security service set.
