Mount the 30G on a desk, in a rack tray, or on a DIN rail.
The 30G is a current-generation ‘G’ series FortiGate, fully supported with active FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions. It is Fortinet’s entry-level desktop model for small branch sites and SMBs.
Performance is identical. The 31G adds a 30 GB onboard SSD for local logging and reporting; the 30G has no onboard storage. Choose the 31G if you want on-box logs without a FortiAnalyzer.
No. The FortiGate 30G is wired-only. If you need an integrated Wi-Fi 6 access point, choose the FortiWiFi 30G (or the FortiWiFi 31G, which adds Wi-Fi 6 and a 30 GB SSD).
Most small sites choose UTP for web, DNS, and video filtering on top of IPS and anti-malware. ATP covers core threat protection only. Enterprise adds the full SASE and security service set.
