• OT application and service detection: identifies and classifies OT-specific traffic flows across the network segment.
• OT vulnerability correlation: maps detected assets against known vulnerability data to surface active risk across the operational environment.

FortiGuard Labs updates all OT signatures and rules as vulnerabilities are disclosed across major industrial vendors.

Who needs this service

This service suits deployments where the FortiGate 30G sits at the boundary between enterprise IT and an operational environment: manufacturing cells, process control systems, utilities infrastructure, building automation, or any network segment running PLCs, HMIs, or SCADA. If the 30G is a pure enterprise edge with no OT exposure, a UTP or Enterprise bundle covers the relevant threats without this add-on.

Activation and delivery

Delivered electronically. The license is registered to your FortiGate 30G by serial number. Once activated, OT updates flow from FortiGuard Labs for the full subscription term. No physical shipment; a valid FortiGate 30G is required.

Starting with 1 year, or committing to longer?

The 1-year term is the right starting point when the OT Security deployment is new and you want to evaluate coverage before committing further. If coverage is a confirmed ongoing need, the 3-year term (FC-10-FG30G-159-02-36) and 5-year term (FC-10-FG30G-159-02-60) both carry lower per-year costs and reduce the risk of a renewal lapse in an environment where continuity matters.

OT Security or a standard bundle?

FortiGuard OT Security is an add-on for OT environments, not a replacement for the IPS, antivirus, application control, and web filtering in a UTP or Enterprise subscription.
