Product description

File-based threats have not gone away — they have gotten better at hiding. The FortiWiFi 70G Advanced Malware Protection subscription (FC-10-FW70G-100-02-12) layers antivirus, mobile malware detection, and FortiGate Cloud Sandbox detonation onto the 70G for 12 months, catching files that signature-only engines miss by running unknown executables in an isolated environment before allowing them into the network.

What AMP Includes

The FortiGuard AMP subscription activates three complementary layers. The antivirus engine uses an extensive database of known malware signatures maintained by FortiGuard, updated continuously. Mobile malware detection extends coverage to APKs and mobile-targeted threats, relevant in environments where employee devices connect through the 70G’s built-in WiFi 6 radio. FortiGate Cloud Sandbox submits suspicious files to an isolated detonation environment in FortiCloud, where unknown samples are executed and analyzed; verdicts are shared back to the 70G and across the FortiGuard threat intelligence network.

Who Runs This

Any organization transferring files in and out of the network benefits from AMP enforcement at the gateway. Branch offices, remote retail locations, and healthcare practices where email attachments and web downloads are common entry points are natural fits. The standalone AMP subscription is suitable for sites that have IPS or URL filtering covered elsewhere and want to add a dedicated file-threat layer without purchasing a full bundle.

Activation and Delivery

DataCenter360.ca delivers the license key electronically within 0-1 business days. After registering in the FortiGuard portal or FortiGate GUI, the AMP engine activates and FortiGate Cloud Sandbox becomes available for file submission. No hardware changes are required.

AMP Standalone vs. a Bundle

Advanced Malware Protection is part of the ATP, UTP, and Enterprise bundles for the FortiWiFi 70G. The table below compares what each bundle tier covers beyond AMP, so you can decide if a standalone subscription fits your current needs.

Feature ATP UTP Enterprise
Antivirus & AntiBot
Advanced Malware Protection
Intrusion Prevention
URL, DNS & Video Filtering

Buying from DataCenter360.ca

DataCenter360.ca is a Fortinet Select Partner and MSSP that handles Fortinet licensing for businesses across Canada. If you are adding AMP to an existing FortiWiFi 70G setup or building out a layered subscription stack from scratch, reach out before or after your order. Our team can walk through how AMP pairs with IPS and URL filtering subscriptions to build a complete UTM stack without the overhead of a full bundle.

Does FortiGate Cloud Sandbox require a separate FortiCloud subscription?
No. The FortiGate Cloud Sandbox included in the AMP subscription operates as part of FortiGuard AMP using FortiCloud infrastructure. You do not need to purchase a separate FortiCloud management subscription to use the sandbox detonation feature. The management and logging capabilities of FortiCloud are separate from the sandbox-as-a-service delivered through AMP.

What file types does the sandbox analyze?
FortiGate Cloud Sandbox can detonate Windows PE executables, Microsoft Office documents, PDFs, Java archives, and several other file formats. The list of supported file types expands with FortiGuard updates over the subscription term.

Is FC-10-FW70G-100-02-12 available worldwide?
Yes. This is a worldwide e-delivery license. DataCenter360.ca ships it electronically and FortiGuard activation handles registration from any country.

Does the mobile malware detection cover iOS devices?
FortiGuard AMP mobile malware detection primarily covers Android-targeted threats, as iOS apps are sandboxed by the operating system in a way that limits file delivery through the network. iOS threats are more commonly blocked through the URL filtering and DNS filtering layers rather than file-based AMP inspection.

Will AMP scan files transferred over encrypted HTTPS connections?
By default, FortiOS can inspect HTTPS traffic when SSL deep inspection is enabled. When active, encrypted files are decrypted at the firewall, scanned by the AMP engine including sandbox submission, and re-encrypted before being forwarded to the destination. SSL deep inspection requires a certificate policy that clients trust; some organizations enable it selectively based on traffic category.
