The FortiGate 80E-POE is a desktop firewall from the 80E series with Power over Ethernet ports, able to power APs, IP phones or cameras directly at a branch site.
It is past end of service life. Fortinet stopped accepting hardware orders on 2022-07-15, and the Last Service Extension Date — the final date on which any FortiGuard or FortiCare coverage could be purchased — passed on 2026-07-15. There is nothing left to sell for this model: no appliance, no subscription, no support contract. Fortinet support formally ends 2027-07-15.
What that means if you still run one. The appliance keeps forwarding traffic, but it no longer receives FortiGuard signature updates, firmware fixes or security patches, and it cannot be covered by TAC support or hardware RMA. An unpatched firewall at the network edge is an exposure, not a saving — this is a replace-now situation rather than a plan-ahead one.
The current-generation replacement is the FortiGate 80F-PoE; the FortiGate 81F-PoE is the closest alternative. FortiOS policies and FortiGuard subscriptions carry across and FortiConverter can migrate the configuration in one pass — ask us to quote the swap.
