End-of-sale 24-port Gigabit access switch with full PoE+ on every port (370 W budget, 740 W dual PSU) plus 4x 10GE SFP+ and 2x 40GE QSFP+ uplinks, 288 Gbps switching, FortiLink-managed. The FS-524D-FPOE hardware is no longer stocked - the current, in-stock replacement is the FortiSwitch 624F-FPOE. See the upgrade path below.

The FortiSwitch 524D-FPOE is a 24-port Gigabit Ethernet access switch from Fortinet's 500-series Secure Campus line - 24x GE RJ45 ports, four 10GE SFP+ and two 40GE QSFP+ uplinks, with 288 Gbps of switching capacity. It powers all 24 access ports with PoE+ (802.3af/at) on a 370 W budget (740 W with a second power supply). Managed over FortiLink from any FortiGate, it folds wired access into the Security Fabric so switching, Wi-Fi and security share one console.
The 524D-FPOE has reached end of sale and is no longer stocked as new hardware. The current, in-stock replacement is the FortiSwitch 624F-FPOE - the same 24-port access role with 5GE multi-gigabit copper, 25GE SFP28 uplinks and hardware MACsec. See the upgrade path below, or contact us for migration help.

Download the full datasheetThe 524D and 524D-FPOE share the same 24-port / 288 Gbps platform with 10GE SFP+ and 40GE QSFP+ uplinks – they differ by Power over Ethernet: the 524D-FPOE powers 24 ports at up to 740 W, the data-only 524D has no PoE. The 48-port 548D-FPOE is the larger sibling. All are now end of sale; the current equivalents are the FortiSwitch 624F and 624F-FPOE.
The 524D-FPOE is end of sale. The FortiSwitch 624F-FPOE is the direct, currently-shipping replacement – same 24-port access role with 5GE multi-gigabit copper, 25GE SFP28 uplinks, hardware MACsec and 440 Gbps switching. Same FortiSwitchOS and FortiLink management across the range.
10GE SFP+ and 40GE QSFP+ uplink transceivers for the fiber ports. The same optics carry over to the current FortiSwitch 624F.
No. The FortiSwitch 524D-FPOE (FS-524D-FPOE) has reached end of sale and is no longer stocked as new hardware. The current, in-stock replacement is the FortiSwitch 624F-FPOE – we can quote it and help you migrate. FortiCare renewals for existing 524D-FPOE units may still be available; contact us.
The FortiSwitch 624F-FPOE is the direct replacement – the same 24-port access role with 5GE multi-gigabit copper, 25GE SFP28 uplinks, hardware MACsec and a higher 440 Gbps switching capacity. Same FortiSwitchOS and FortiLink management.
Yes – the 524D-FPOE powered all 24 access ports with PoE+ (802.3af/at) on a 370 W budget (740 W with a second PSU). The data-only 524D had no PoE. The current equivalent is the 624F-FPOE with 802.3bt PoE.
Over FortiLink from any FortiGate firewall, so switching, Wi-Fi and security were managed in one console with no separate controller. It could also run standalone. The FortiSwitch 624F-FPOE keeps the same FortiLink management.
Yes. As a Fortinet Select Partner we can spec the right current FortiSwitch, match port and PoE counts, and quote hardware plus FortiCare. Hardware ships free and fast; licensing is delivered electronically worldwide.
