Need reliable 10-gigabit links inside a rack or across a wiring closet? The FN-TRAN-SFP+SR is the Fortinet 10GBASE-SR module built and tested for that job. It runs 10GbE over multimode fiber at 850nm, reaching 300m on OM3 and 550m on OM4, and plugs straight into any SFP+ cage on a FortiGate, FortiSwitch, or FortiManager. Because it is a Fortinet-branded, Fortinet-qualified optic, it passes the appliance’s transceiver compatibility check instead of throwing an unsupported-SFP warning.

Short-range 10GbE is the workhorse of data-center and campus aggregation: FortiGate-to-FortiSwitch uplinks, top-of-rack to end-of-row, or firewall to core switch where the run stays under 300m. If your patch runs on OM4 fiber you get headroom to 550m. For distances beyond that, step up to the FN-TRAN-SFP+LR (10km) single-mode module instead.
Works in the SFP+ ports of FortiGate, FortiSwitch, and FortiManager appliances. It is a multimode optic, so pair it with OM3 or OM4 duplex LC patch cables and a matching SR module at the far end. For a copper alternative over very short in-rack runs, the FN-CABLE-SFP+ direct-attach cables are lower cost and lower power.
