Yes — the 448E is a current-generation FortiSwitch campus access switch, actively sold and supported. Note that End-of-Order is scheduled for 2026-09-13, after which the 448E-POE and 448E-FPOE variants and the 424E line remain the current path forward.
The data-only 448E is the right choice when your 48 ports connect devices that have their own power supplies — workstations, servers, storage — and you do not need to power APs, IP phones or cameras over Ethernet. It costs less and consumes less power than the PoE variants.
