The FortiGate 101F is a 1U rackmount next-generation firewall for mid-size businesses, branch offices and campus-edge sites that need onboard log storage. It is the FortiGate 100F platform with a 480 GB SSD added for local logging, reporting and traffic capture. It pairs 12 Gigabit RJ45 ports with four GE RJ45/SFP shared-media pairs, four GE SFP and two 10GbE SFP+ FortiLink slots, and uses Fortinet's SOC4 SPU to deliver 1 Gbps of threat protection, 20 Gbps firewall throughput, 1.5 million concurrent sessions and 11.5 Gbps of IPsec VPN. It runs FortiOS with built-in SD-WAN and ZTNA enforcement, with no add-on license needed for those features, and ships with dual built-in power supplies for 1+1 redundancy. If onboard storage is not required, the 100F is the identical platform without the SSD; step down to the 80F for smaller branches, or up to the 200F for higher throughput and port density.

The 101F is a FortiGate ‘F’ series next-generation firewall built on the SOC4 security processing unit. Its last order date was April 2026 and it is now winding down, but it remains fully supported with FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions and RMA renewals available through April 2031. For a new deployment, consider the current FortiGate 120G; for an identical platform without the onboard SSD, see the 100F.
The 101F adds a 480 GB onboard SSD to the 100F platform for local logging, reporting and traffic capture, at slightly higher power draw (35.3 W vs 26.5 W average). Performance, ports, the SOC4 SPU and the 1U chassis are otherwise identical.
The 101F delivers 20 Gbps firewall throughput, 2.6 Gbps IPS, 1.6 Gbps NGFW, 1 Gbps threat protection and 1 Gbps SSL inspection, with 1.5 million concurrent sessions and 56,000 new sessions per second.
Twelve Gigabit RJ45 ports, four GE RJ45/SFP shared-media pairs, four GE SFP slots and two 10GbE SFP+ FortiLink slots, plus dedicated WAN, HA and MGMT/DMZ ports, one USB port and one RJ45 console port.
Yes. FortiGuard security subscriptions, FortiCare support and Secure RMA renewals remain available for the 101F through its April 2031 end-of-support date, and are delivered electronically worldwide from DataCenter360.ca.
