The FortiAP 223E is Fortinet's indoor Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac Wave 2) access point — a dual-radio 2x2 design serving the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. What sets it apart from the 221E is a second Gigabit Ethernet port: the 223E supports link aggregation across its two GbE uplinks for added throughput and resilience, and gives you PoE wiring flexibility. It uses Wave 2 features — MU-MIMO and 256-QAM — to serve more devices efficiently over existing Cat5e/Cat6 cabling. An integrated BLE radio supports beacons and locationing, and the AP is managed by any FortiGate, by FortiAP Cloud or through FortiSASE — no per-AP management licence. The 223E is end-of-order but remains in our catalog, fully supported and renewable through 2030. For the newer Wi-Fi 6 generation step up to the FortiAP 231F, or to the Wi-Fi 7 FortiAP 231K / 221K.
