The FortiAP 23JF is a compact Wi-Fi 6 wall-plate access point built for rooms, not open floors - hotels, dorms, student residences, multi-dwelling units and remote / work-from-home desks. It mounts straight over a standard wall jack and is up and running in minutes, or sits on a desk with the optional stand. Three radios keep it secure and fast: 2x2 MU-MIMO on 2.4 and 5 GHz for clients, plus a dedicated radio that scans continuously for threats and rogue APs. A built-in switch adds real value in a guest room: four Gigabit Ethernet ports - one 802.3at PoE uplink, one 802.3af PoE-out to power a downstream device such as an IP phone, and two pass-through ports - along with RJ45 passthrough and an RS-232 serial port. An integrated BLE / Zigbee radio supports beacons and locationing, and the AP is managed by any FortiGate or by FortiEdge Cloud - no separate controller and no per-AP management license. Mount and power the FortiAP 23JF.
The FortiAP 23JF is a current-generation Wi-Fi 6 wall-plate access point, actively sold and fully supported. It is not on an end-of-order or end-of-support schedule.
It is a tri-radio Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) AP with 2×2 MU-MIMO, reaching up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz (about 1.78 Gbps aggregate), with a dedicated scanning radio and support for up to 512 clients per serving radio.
It has four Gigabit Ethernet ports – one 802.3at PoE uplink, one 802.3af PoE-out (PSE) to power a downstream device such as an IP phone, and two non-PoE ports – plus RJ45 pass-through (in and out) and an RS-232 serial port. It runs on 802.3at PoE or an optional DC adapter; draw is 17.5 W, or 31 W with PoE-out enabled.
It is designed for one AP per room: hotels, dorms, student residences, multi-dwelling units and remote / work-from-home desks. It installs over an existing wall plate in minutes, or sits on a desk with the optional FAP-MNT-WJ-20 or FAP-DESK-JK stand.
Both are 2×2 wall-plate APs. The 23JF is Wi-Fi 6; the 23JK is the newer Wi-Fi 7 model, adding the 6 GHz band, a 10 GbE uplink and 802.3bt PoE. Choose the 23JK for Wi-Fi 7 and higher throughput; choose the 23JF for proven, lower-cost Wi-Fi 6.
