The FortiAP 231K is Fortinet's entry Wi-Fi 7 indoor access point - a three-radio 2x2 design that brings full Wi-Fi 7, 6 GHz and 320 MHz channels to mainstream spaces at the lowest cost in the K-series line. It serves clients on 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz at once and runs WIDS / WIPS rogue scanning in background or dedicated mode, so you keep visibility into the airspace. A 5 Gigabit multigigabit uplink and 802.3at PoE make it an easy fit on existing switch infrastructure - no re-cabling and no high-power PoE budget required. An integrated BLE / Zigbee radio and on-board GPS support beacons and locationing, and the AP is managed by any FortiGate or by FortiEdge Cloud - no separate controller and no per-AP management license. Step up to the quad-radio 241K for a dedicated scanning radio and 10 GbE uplink, or to the 4x4 441K for the highest client density.

Power and mount the FortiAP 231K.
The FortiAP 231K is a current-generation Wi-Fi 7 access point, actively sold and fully supported. It is not on an end-of-order or end-of-support schedule.
Both are 2×2 Wi-Fi 7 APs. The 231K is a three-radio entry AP on 802.3at PoE with a 5 GbE uplink – the value choice for mainstream coverage. The 241K adds a fourth dedicated scanning radio, a 10 GbE uplink and 802.3bt PoE for busier, higher-throughput spaces.
It is a Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) AP with three radios and 2×2 MU-MIMO, reaching about 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 2.88 Gbps on 5 GHz and 5.77 Gbps on 6 GHz (roughly 9.3 Gbps aggregate), and supports up to 512 clients per serving radio.
It runs at full 2×2 capability on standard 802.3at PoE (or 802.3af at 1×1, or a 12 V DC supply). Its uplink is a multigigabit RJ45 supporting 100M / 1G / 2.5G / 5G, so it fits existing switching without high-power PoE or new cabling.
