The FortiAP 221K is Fortinet's entry, retail-grade Wi-Fi 7 indoor access point - a two-radio 2x2 design that brings Wi-Fi 7 efficiency to the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands at the lowest cost in the K-series line. It uses the Wi-Fi 7 toolkit - OFDMA, MU-MIMO, 4096-QAM and Target Wake Time - to serve more devices more reliably over existing cabling, and runs continuous 24x7 background scanning for rogue APs and threats without interrupting clients. A 2.5 Gigabit multigigabit uplink and standard 802.3at PoE (16.3 W maximum) make it an easy retrofit - no high-power PoE budget and no new switches. An integrated BLE / Zigbee radio supports beacons, locationing and IoT, and the AP is managed by any FortiGate, by FortiEdge Cloud or through FortiSASE - no separate controller and no per-AP management licence. It does not include a 6 GHz radio: for the 6 GHz band step up to the tri-radio 231K, and for higher density move to the quad-radio 241K or the 4x4 441K.

The 221K ships with a standard ceiling / T-rail / wall mount kit. Power it from any 802.3at PoE switch, the GPI-130 injector or the SP-FAP200-PA adapter.

Both are 2×2 Wi-Fi 7 APs. The 221K is the entry, dual-band model (2.4 / 5 GHz) with a 2.5 GbE uplink and 802.3at PoE – the most affordable Wi-Fi 7 AP. The 231K adds a third radio for the 6 GHz band and a 5 GbE uplink for spaces that need 6 GHz capacity.
It is a Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) AP with two radios and 2×2 MU-MIMO, reaching up to 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2.882 Gbps on 5 GHz (about 3.5 Gbps aggregate), and supports up to 128 clients per radio with up to 8 SSIDs per serving radio.
It runs at full 2×2 capability on standard 802.3at PoE (16.3 W maximum) or a 12 V DC adapter. Its uplink is a multigigabit RJ45 supporting 100M / 1G / 2.5G, so it fits existing switching without high-power PoE or re-cabling. Power options include the GPI-130 injector and the SP-FAP200-PA adapter.
