FortiGate 61E has reached end of sale and is no longer available. The replacement model is the FortiGate 61F.
End-of-life compact desktop next-generation firewall built on Fortinet's SoC3 security processor, with 3 Gbps firewall throughput, 1.3 million concurrent sessions, seven GE RJ45 internal ports plus dual WAN and a 128 GB onboard SSD for local logging in a fanless form factor for small offices and branches. The FortiGate 61E hardware is no longer sold — FortiGuard and FortiCare renewals are still available below (renewal window closes mid-2026), and the FortiGate 70G is the current, currently-shipping replacement.

The FortiGate 61E is end of life. The FortiGate 70G is the direct, currently-shipping replacement with a full-generation jump in firewall throughput, threat protection and secure SD-WAN; the FortiGate 90G steps up further with 28 Gbps firewall throughput and 3 M sessions. Same FortiOS and FortiGuard services across the range.

FortiGuard and FortiCare renewal subscriptions for installed FortiGate 61E units. Licensing is electronic and delivered worldwide.
No. The FortiGate 61E (FG-61E) has reached end of life — end of order was 2021 and end of support is 2026. You can still renew FortiGuard security services and FortiCare support for an installed unit while it is in its renewal window, and we can quote the current FortiGate 70G as a direct replacement.
The FortiGate 70G is the direct, currently-shipping replacement — a full-generation jump in firewall throughput and threat protection in the same compact desktop class. For more throughput and sessions, step up to the FortiGate 90G.
Yes, while the model is in its renewal window (end of support is 2026). Choose a FortiGuard + FortiCare renewal bundle (Enterprise, UTP or ATP) above, or renew individual FortiGuard services and FortiCare support. Licensing is delivered electronically worldwide.
The 61E delivers 3 Gbps firewall throughput, 400 Mbps IPS, 250 Mbps NGFW, 200 Mbps threat protection and 2 Gbps IPsec VPN, with 1,300,000 concurrent sessions and 30,000 new sessions per second, accelerated by Fortinet’s SoC3 security processor, in a fanless desktop form factor.
The FortiGate 61E adds a 1x 128 GB onboard SSD to the base 60E for local logging and reporting. Both share the same SoC3 platform, 3 Gbps firewall performance and the same dual-WAN, seven-internal-port copper layout; the 60E has no onboard storage.
