The FortiGate 61F (FG-61F) is the 60F with a 128 GB SSD soldered into the story. That onboard disk is the difference: local logging, on-box reporting, and WAN-path analytics without immediately shipping everything to a FortiAnalyzer or the cloud. Same ten-port layout, same 1.4 Gbps IPS engine, same fanless desktop footprint. Sold here as the appliance alone, with FortiGuard licensing chosen separately.
On a 60F, every log line leaves the box. On the 61F, the 128 GB SSD lets the firewall retain logs, run local reports, and hold short-term forensic data on the appliance itself. For a branch that wants visibility without a dedicated logging server, or that needs some history to survive a WAN outage, the onboard storage is the whole reason to choose this model over the 60F.
