End-of-sale 48-port Gigabit access switch (48x GE RJ45 + 4x GE SFP, data only, 104 Gbps switching, FortiLink-managed). The FS-148E hardware is no longer stocked - the current, in-stock replacement is the FortiSwitch 148F. See the upgrade path below.

The FortiSwitch 148E is a 48-port Gigabit Ethernet access switch from Fortinet's E-series Secure Access line - 48x GE RJ45 ports plus four GE SFP fiber uplinks, data only (no PoE), with 104 Gbps of switching capacity. Managed over FortiLink from any FortiGate, it folds wired access into the Security Fabric so switching, Wi-Fi and security share one console.
The 148E has reached end of sale and is no longer stocked as new hardware. The current, in-stock replacement is the FortiSwitch 148F - the same 48-port access role with a higher 176 Gbps switching capacity and 10 GbE SFP+ uplinks. If you need Power over Ethernet, choose the 148F-POE (24 ports, 370 W) or 148F-FPOE (48 ports, 740 W). See the upgrade path below, or contact us for migration help.

The 148E is end of sale. The FortiSwitch 148F is the direct, currently-shipping replacement – same 48-port access role, higher 176 Gbps switching capacity and 10 GbE SFP+ uplinks. Choose the 148F-POE or 148F-FPOE if you need Power over Ethernet. Same FortiSwitchOS and FortiLink management across the range.
Fiber uplink transceivers for the GE SFP ports. The same optics carry over to the current FortiSwitch 148F.
No. The FortiSwitch 148E (FS-148E) has reached end of sale and is no longer stocked as new hardware. The current, in-stock replacement is the FortiSwitch 148F – we can quote it and help you migrate.
The FortiSwitch 148F is the direct replacement – the same 48-port Gigabit access role with a higher 176 Gbps switching capacity and 10 GbE SFP+ uplinks. For PoE, choose the 148F-POE (24 ports) or 148F-FPOE (all 48 ports).
No – the base 148E is data only (48x GE RJ45 + 4x GE SFP). The 148E-POE powered 24 ports (370 W). The current equivalents are the 148F-POE and 148F-FPOE.
Over FortiLink from any FortiGate firewall, so switching, Wi-Fi and security were managed in one console with no separate controller. It could also run standalone. The 148F keeps the same FortiLink management.
Yes. As a Fortinet Select Partner we can spec the right current FortiSwitch, match port and PoE counts, and quote hardware plus FortiCare. Hardware ships free and fast; licensing is delivered electronically worldwide.
