All 224 models share the same 24-port / 56 Gbps Layer 2/3 platform with four GE SFP uplinks. They differ by Power over Ethernet: the data-only 224E has no PoE output, the 224E-POE powers 12 ports at 180 W, and the 224D-FPOE powers all 24 ports at 370 W.
The 224E is the 24-port data-only member of the 200-series Secure Access line. Step up to the 48-port 248D for larger closets, or move to the 224E-POE or 224D-FPOE when you need PoE. Same FortiSwitchOS and FortiLink management across the range.
