The FortiSwitch 224D-FPOE is the full-PoE member of the 24-port 200-series access line: all 24 Gigabit RJ45 ports deliver 802.3af/at power from a 370 W budget, alongside four GE SFP fiber uplinks and 56 Gbps of Layer 2/3 switching in a 1RU rack-mount chassis. Because power is available on every port rather than a subset, it suits deployments where the whole floor is powered devices — wall-to-wall access points, IP phones at every desk, or a camera run where you cannot predict which ports will need PoE. An optional external FRPS-740 redundant power supply protects the closet if the internal PSU fails; one FRPS-740 backs up to two units. Managed over FortiLink from any FortiGate, it folds wired access into the Security Fabric — one console for switching, Wi-Fi and security, with no separate controller. It also runs standalone. Note that this model is actively cooled (42.7 dBA) rather than fanless: for a silent wiring closet, the data-only 224E is fanless, and the 224E-POE powers 12 ports at 180 W.

All 224 models share the same 24-port / 56 Gbps Layer 2/3 platform with four GE SFP uplinks. They differ by Power over Ethernet: the 224D-FPOE powers all 24 ports at 370 W, the 224E-POE powers 12 ports at 180 W, and the data-only 224E has no PoE output.
The 224D-FPOE is the full-PoE, 24-port member of the 200-series Secure Access line. Step down to the 224E-POE for selective PoE, or up to the 48-port 248E-FPOE when one closet has to power a whole floor. Same FortiSwitchOS and FortiLink management across the range.
