Coverage starts from the date you register the key in the Fortinet Support Portal, not from purchase date. If you receive the key but are not ready to activate, you can hold it until the device is deployed and register it then.
What is included in the next-business-day RMA?
Under FortiCare Premium, if Fortinet TAC confirms a hardware failure, a replacement FortiSwitch-224E is dispatched to ship next business day. You return the failed unit using a prepaid label. Availability may vary by region; confirm with Fortinet TAC for your specific location.
Is FortiCare Premium the same as an Enterprise bundle for FortiGate?
No. FortiCare Premium is a standalone support contract covering hardware warranty and TAC access. Enterprise bundles for FortiGate include FortiGuard security subscriptions on top of FortiCare. The FortiSwitch does not use FortiGuard subscriptions, so FortiCare contracts are the only support licensing needed for the switch itself.
Can this contract be transferred if I sell or replace the FortiSwitch?
FortiCare contracts are tied to a specific device serial number and generally are not transferable. If the unit is replaced under RMA, Fortinet migrates the contract to the replacement device automatically. Contact Fortinet Support for questions about device transfers outside of RMA.
Where can I verify the contract status after registration?
Log into the Fortinet Support Portal at support.fortinet.com and navigate to Product Registration. Your FS-224E serial number will show the active contract type, start date, and expiry date. DataCenter360.ca can assist if there are any discrepancies after registration.
