FortiGuard Data Loss Prevention (svc 589) adds outbound content inspection to the FortiWeb VM02. Using pattern libraries maintained by FortiGuard, the service scans HTTP responses and request bodies for sensitive data: personally identifiable information such as names, addresses, and national identification numbers; payment card numbers matching recognized card network formats; and additional configurable data categories. When a match is detected, FortiWeb can block the response, mask the sensitive values in place, or log the event for analyst review. Detection patterns are updated through the FortiGuard subscription, maintaining coverage as data formats and regulatory categories evolve. This is a 1-year annual subscription specific to the VM02 appliance.
