FC-10-FD26F-204-02-60 is the mid-term route there: it converts an active Premium contract to Elite for five years without waiting for the current term to lapse, on a single FortiGate 2600F-DC. What this upgrade unlocks

Moving from Premium to Elite tightens the critical-issue response window from 1 hour down to 15 minutes and adds the FortiCare Elite portal, which gives a unified, proactive view of device health and recommendations rather than a reactive ticket queue. Elite also carries an 18-month Extended End-of-Engineering-Support (E-EoES) window on supported long-term-support (LTS) releases, useful for a chassis that is expected to stay in production for years. The upgrade requires an active FortiCare Premium contract already registered on the 2600F-DC; it does not stand alone.

Who needs the Premium-to-Elite upgrade

Teams that provisioned a 2600F-DC with Premium and have since found that 1-hour critical response is not fast enough for the traffic passing through it. That is common once the chassis moves from a lab or staging role into a core datacenter or carrier edge position, where a device outage cascades into customer-facing downtime. Rather than let the Premium term run out and re-buy at Elite pricing later, this upgrade applies the higher tier immediately for the remaining five-year window.

Activation and delivery

Delivery is electronic, typically within 0 to 1 business days, to any country. Fortinet applies the upgrade against the FortiGate 2600F-DC’s existing Premium registration, so the serial number and current contract need to be on file before activation; without an active Premium contract in place, this SKU cannot be applied.

Upgrade path vs. buying Elite outright

Two ways to end up on Elite. If the 2600F-DC already carries Premium, this upgrade (FC-10-FD26F-204-02-60) is the cheaper route: it adds the Elite entitlements to the term already in force rather than starting a new five-year contract from zero. If there is no existing Premium contract, buy Elite directly instead (FC-10-FD26F-284-02-60) or start with Premium (FC-10-FD26F-247-02-60) and upgrade later.
