The FC-10-F32F1-159-02-12 adds a 1-year FortiGuard OT Security Service subscription to the FortiGate 3201F, activating OT device detection, vulnerability correlation, virtual patching, OT-specific Application Control and IPS signatures, and OT dashboards. These capabilities run natively in FortiOS — no separate OT security appliance required.

What the Service Covers

The subscription extends the FortiGate 3201F with five OT-specific capabilities, maintained continuously by Fortinet’s FortiGuard Labs threat research team:

• OT device detection — an up-to-date signature database that identifies and classifies PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, DCS systems, and engineering workstations on the network.
• Vulnerability correlation and virtual patching — maps detected OT device profiles against known CVEs and applies IPS-based virtual patches. Legacy OT equipment receives protection without requiring firmware updates on the device itself.
• OT Application Control and IPS signatures — extended coverage for industrial protocols including Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, and EtherNet/IP, enabling anomaly detection and granular policy enforcement on industrial traffic.
• OT dashboards and compliance reports — FortiOS dashboards that surface OT asset inventory, device risk scores, and compliance posture to support frameworks such as IEC 62443.
• OT service and application detection — classifies OT application traffic to support micro-segmentation between industrial and corporate network zones.

Who Needs This Subscription

The primary buyers are utilities, energy companies, manufacturers, and critical infrastructure operators that have positioned a FortiGate 3201F at the IT/OT convergence boundary. The FortiGate 3201F already handles NGFW, IPS, and segmentation for IP traffic; this subscription extends that same enforcement point to industrial protocol flows, consolidating OT security into the existing perimeter without deploying a dedicated OT appliance.

Activation and Delivery

This is a purely electronic subscription. After the order is confirmed, DataCenter360.ca delivers a FortiCare/FortiGuard license key by email. Register it on the Fortinet Support Portal, then apply it in FortiOS under System > FortiGuard. OT signatures and device packages begin downloading automatically. No physical media. The 1-year term begins on the activation date; co-term alignment with an existing FortiCare contract is possible.

Standalone Add-On vs. the Standard Bundles

FortiGuard OT Security (service code 159) is available only as a standalone à-la-carte subscription. It is not included in the ATP (811), UTP (950), or Enterprise (809) bundles. Organizations that need broader coverage — antimalware, URL filtering, DLP, application control for IT traffic — should pair this add-on with a UTP or Enterprise bundle rather than relying on OT Security alone.
