What this subscription covers

FortiEDR Protect & Respond with Standard MDR Subscription combines the FortiEDR cloud endpoint protection platform with Fortinet’s Standard MDR service. On the platform side, lightweight agents on enrolled endpoints perform real-time behavioral detection and automated response to stop threats before they spread. On the service side, a Fortinet-managed operations team monitors alerts, validates incidents, and provides remediation guidance around the clock. This subscription is the baseline managed detection and response tier. Standard MDR does not include the extended telemetry across network, email, and additional security layers that Managed XDR provides. The FC3 band covers 2,000 endpoints, setting the ceiling for enrolled devices under this license.

Seat bands and minimum order

Fortinet structures FortiEDR subscriptions in endpoint bands. FC3 covers 2,000 endpoints. The minimum order for this service is 100 endpoints regardless of which band you purchase , selecting the FC3 band does not waive the 100-endpoint floor. How FortiEDR is deployed

FortiEDR operates through a cloud-hosted management console. After activation, you enroll endpoints by installing lightweight FortiEDR agents; those agents report telemetry to the cloud console, which applies policy and responds to threats automatically. No on-premises server or hardware management appliance is required for the management plane. This subscription is delivered electronically to customers worldwide; no physical shipment is involved.
