The 3500F is a 2RU rack appliance with six 100GE QSFP28 ports, thirty-two 25GE SFP28 slots and dual hot-swappable AC power.
The FortiGate 3500F is a current-generation model, fully supported with active FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions available for 1, 3, and 5-year terms.
Both run on the NP7 + CP9 platform. The 3500F delivers higher raw throughput (595 Gbps firewall and 72 Gbps IPS vs 387 Gbps and 63 Gbps) and 140 million concurrent sessions, using 6x 100GE QSFP28 uplinks. The 3200F offers 4x 400GE QSFP-DD interface density for environments that standardize on 400GE optics. Choose the 3500F for maximum session capacity and inspection throughput on 100GE links.
Performance is identical — both run on the same NP7 + CP9 platform. The FortiGate 3501F adds 2x 1.92 TB onboard SSD storage for local logging and reporting. Choose the 3500F when on-box storage is not required.
The 3500F provides six 100GE QSFP28 ports (also usable as 40GE QSFP+), thirty-two 25GE SFP28 slots (also 10GE SFP+ / GE SFP), two dedicated 25GE SFP28 / 10GE SFP+ HA slots, and dual 10GE / GE RJ45 management ports.
The optional Hyperscale Firewall license unlocks additional NP7 hardware acceleration features, raising concurrent sessions from 140 million to 348 million and new sessions/second from 1 million to 5 million. It is a perpetual license for carrier and hyperscale deployments that need maximum session scale.
