Fortinet 100GE CFP2 Transceiver Module, Long Range 10km (FG-TRAN-CFP2-LR4)

For a high-end FortiGate that needs its 100GE CFP2 port to reach beyond the rack, the FG-TRAN-CFP2-LR4 is Fortinet’s long-range optic for that cage. It drives 100GBASE-LR4 over single-mode fiber at 1310nm out to 10km on a simple duplex LC connector, and is Fortinet-qualified so the appliance accepts it as a genuine module.

Where this module fits

Long-range 100GE on CFP2 covers building-to-building or campus-core links where the CFP2-equipped FortiGate needs to talk to another site over single-mode fiber, without breaking the 100G port down into ten 10GbE legs. It is the point-to-point alternative to the CFP2 SR10 fan-out cables used for in-rack density.

Compatibility

Installs in the CFP2 slot on 100G-capable FortiGate platforms. Requires OS2 single-mode duplex LC fiber and a matching LR4 optic at the far end. For in-rack 10GbE fan-out from the same CFP2 port, use the FG-CABLE-SR10-SFP+ breakout cable instead.
