For a short 25-gigabit link between two devices in the same rack, the FN-CABLE-SFP28-1 is Fortinet’s 1-metre 25GBASE-CR direct-attach cable. Twinax copper carries 25GbE between two SFP28 ports with the connectors moulded on and under 0.1W of draw, and its wide -40 to 85 degrees C rating suits even hot or industrial cabinets. There are no optics to source, so it is a plug-and-play uplink for top-of-rack 25G.

Passive 25G DAC is the standard top-of-rack link: a 25G-capable FortiGate to a FortiSwitch, or server-to-switch inside the row where the run stays short. At 1m it suits same-rack connections. The wide operating-temperature rating means it holds up in warmer cabinets where thermals are tight, and its digital-monitoring support lets the appliance read cable diagnostics.

Compatibility

Connects two SFP28 ports on 25GbE-capable FortiGate and FortiSwitch models as a single fixed-end assembly. For 3m and 5m runs, use the FN-CABLE-SFP28-3 and FN-CABLE-SFP28-5. For cross-rack or longer 25G links, switch to the FN-TRAN-SFP28-SR optic over multimode fiber.
