Product description

A FortiGate is only as good as its configuration. FortiGate Remote Deployment & Configuration is a fixed-scope professional service that takes a new or relocated Fortinet firewall from out-of-the-box to production, performed entirely over a secure remote session by an FCP-certified engineer. We handle FortiOS setup, interface and SD-WAN configuration, firewall policies, security profiles, and VPN, then validate the result and hand it over with documentation and a short administrator walkthrough. No site visit is required, so the engagement works for any FortiGate model already on your network, anywhere you operate.

What the service includes

Every engagement follows the same five-stage method, scaled to the tier you select below.

  1. Pre-engagement. A dedicated engineer is assigned, prerequisites are confirmed, and we agree the schedule, the security groups, policies and rules to be built, the people and roles involved, and a recommended design for your environment.
  2. NGFW configuration. Secure remote access to the appliance, base device setup, firmware update to the recommended stable release, then interfaces and SD-WAN, routing, VLANs, DHCP, NAT, firewall policies, and the security profiles (antivirus, web filtering, application control, IPS) appropriate to your tier.
  3. VPN configuration. Client-to-site remote access (SSL or IPsec) with user accounts created and tested, plus site-to-site IPsec tunnels between your locations.
  4. Knowledge transfer. A live administrator training session on day-to-day management of the firewall, with your team included throughout the build so questions are answered as we go. Official Fortinet NSE 4 study material is provided for reference.
  5. Handover. Testing and go-live support as the firewall moves into production, followed by a completion report documenting what was configured.

Choose the right tier

All three tiers are quote-based and delivered remotely. Pick the row that matches your environment, or request a quote and we will confirm scope and price for your exact deployment.

What is not included

To keep scope and pricing clear, the following fall outside this service and are quoted separately when needed:

  • Any activity not listed in the agreed scope of work.
  • Configuration of non-Fortinet or third-party devices (switches, routers, servers, endpoints).
  • Physical installation, structured cabling, electrical work, or rack mounting.
  • New requirements introduced after go-live, which are handled as a change request.
  • Ongoing day-to-day management, available separately through our managed security services.

How the engagement works

After you request a quote, we confirm the appliance model, the scope, and the schedule, then book the remote session. Work is performed over an encrypted remote connection to the FortiGate, so there is no shipping and no on-site requirement. A Standard deployment is typically completed in about two business days from the agreed start date; larger Advanced and Enterprise engagements follow a project schedule we set with you. Configuration work carries a 30-day guarantee covering the parameters delivered before go-live.

Why DataCenter360.ca

DataCenter360.ca is a Fortinet Select Partner and MSSP, with FCP-certified engineering. We sell, deploy, and support the full FortiGate line, so the same team that can supply your appliance and licensing can also configure it correctly the first time. That continuity matters: the engineer building your policies understands the hardware, the FortiOS feature set, and the licensing behind it. For organizations standardizing on Fortinet across several sites, we scope multi-firewall and Security Fabric deployments under the Enterprise tier.

Is this service performed remotely or on-site?

It is performed entirely remotely. An FCP-certified engineer connects to your FortiGate over a secure, encrypted remote session, so there is no shipping and no site visit. This keeps delivery fast and lets us configure any FortiGate already on your network regardless of location.

Which FortiGate models does this cover?

Any current FortiGate next-generation firewall, from desktop models such as the FortiGate 40F and 70G through rack appliances like the 100F, 200G, and larger. The configuration method is the same across the line; the tier you choose reflects the complexity of your network, not the model. If you have not purchased the appliance yet, we can supply it alongside the deployment.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?

Pricing is quote-based because scope varies by environment. Request a quote with your FortiGate model and requirements and we will confirm the tier and price. A Standard deployment is usually completed in about two business days from the agreed start date; Advanced and Enterprise engagements run on a project schedule agreed with you.

What do you need from us before starting?

We confirm a short list of prerequisites during pre-engagement: secure remote access to the appliance, your internet and WAN details, the network segments and policies you want enforced, VPN requirements, and the names and roles of the people involved. We provide a checklist so nothing holds up the build.

Does the service include security subscriptions or licensing?

No. This is a configuration service. FortiGuard security subscriptions (UTP, Enterprise, or individual services) and FortiCare support are licensed separately. As a Fortinet Select Partner we can quote the right licensing alongside the deployment so your security profiles are fully active at go-live.

Do you offer ongoing management after go-live?

Yes. This service ends at handover, but our managed security services cover ongoing monitoring, policy changes, firmware maintenance, and incident response on a continuing basis. Ask for details when you request your deployment quote.
