This add-on suits organizations where a FortiGate 2500E sits inside a compliance boundary: financial services, healthcare, government, defense contractors, and any environment with contractual or regulatory language forbidding hardware from leaving the site once it has processed sensitive traffic. Secure RMA is an add-on to an existing FortiCare Premium or Elite contract. It is not sold as a standalone replacement for base support, and it is not available with FortiCare Essential.

FortiCare RMA eligibility by tier

Whether Secure RMA and other Priority RMA options apply depends on which FortiCare tier already covers the FortiGate 2500E:

A FortiGate 2500E on FortiCare Essential is not eligible for this Secure RMA add-on. Premium or Elite coverage is a prerequisite.

Activation and delivery

The service is registered electronically against the FortiGate 2500E’s serial number and layered on top of the device’s existing FortiCare Premium or Elite contract. Nothing ships at the time of purchase. The entitlement activates the Secure RMA terms for the full five-year period, so a future hardware failure is handled as a non-return replacement rather than a standard advanced-replacement RMA. No physical shipment, order confirmation, or waiting period applies until a claim is actually filed.
