Branch NGFW with a hardware fail-to-wire bypass port pair — if the appliance loses power, that inline link stays up, so a single site keeps passing traffic while you restore service.
End-of-order model. Fortinet stopped new orders of the FortiGate 80F-Bypass (and 80F-Bypass-Gen2) on 2026-05-17; it is supported with renewals until 2031-05-17. Renew FortiGuard & FortiCare below, or move to the current FortiGate 90G. If you do not need the hardware bypass, the FortiGate 80F is still available.

The configurations most customers buy: the appliance on its own, bundled with FortiGuard protection, or the protection subscription to renew. The complete catalog is further down.

The FortiGate 80F-Bypass is the branch model of the FortiGate 80F series built for inline resilience. It delivers the 80F platform's SoC4 secure SD-WAN ASIC — 900 Mbps threat protection, 10 Gbps firewall throughput, and 1.5 million concurrent sessions — and adds a hardware fail-to-wire bypass port pair so a monitored link stays connected if the unit loses power or faults. It is now end-of-order: hardware is no longer sold new, but subscriptions renew normally on installed units. For new deployments, the current FortiGate 90G fills the same branch role on Fortinet's newer SP5 platform; if you do not need bypass, the FortiGate 80F remains available.

The 80F-Bypass differs from the standard 80F only by its hardware fail-to-wire bypass port pair for inline resilience. For new purchases, the FortiGate 90G is the current replacement; the standard FortiGate 80F is still sold if bypass is not needed.
Renewal and subscription options for the FG-80F-Bypass: FortiGuard bundles, individual services, FortiCare support, cloud and RMA. Hardware is end-of-order and shown for reference; licensing is delivered electronically worldwide.

Mount the 80F-Bypass on a desk, wall, or in an optional RM-FR-T15 rack tray.
The FortiGate 80F-Bypass (and 80F-Bypass-Gen2) reached end-of-order on 2026-05-17, so the hardware is no longer sold new. Fortinet supports it with renewals until 2031-05-17, so FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions on installed units renew normally — see the purchasing options above. For new deployments, choose the current FortiGate 90G, or the still-sold FortiGate 80F if you do not need hardware bypass.
One GE RJ45 port pair (WAN1 and Port1 by default) is fail-to-wire: if the appliance loses power or faults, that pair mechanically closes to a straight wire so the inline link keeps passing traffic. It trades inspection for uptime on that segment until the unit recovers.
The FortiGate 90G is the current-generation branch replacement on Fortinet’s SP5 platform with higher throughput. Note the 90G does not include a hardware bypass pair; if fail-to-wire is a requirement, talk to us about current bypass options.
Yes. Renewals are active until the 2031-05-17 end-of-support date. Use the UTP or Enterprise renewal in the purchasing tables above; licensing is delivered electronically worldwide.
No. It is a wired NGFW with no integrated wireless and no onboard SSD. For Wi-Fi see the FortiWiFi 80F/81F models; for on-box storage see the 81F line.
