The FortiGate 80F-Bypass is the bypass-equipped model of Fortinet's 80F branch-class desktop next-generation firewall. It adds a hardware bypass GE RJ45 port pair (WAN1 and Port1 by default) that fails to wire on a power loss or device fault, letting traffic keep flowing while the appliance reboots — useful for inline deployments where an outage is unacceptable. It pairs two GE RJ45/SFP shared-media pairs, two WAN ports, six internal and two FortiLink GbE ports with the SoC4 security processor to deliver 10 Gbps firewall throughput, 900 Mbps of threat protection, 1.5 million concurrent sessions and 6.5 Gbps of IPsec VPN. It runs FortiOS with built-in secure SD-WAN and ZTNA enforcement, with no add-on license needed for those features, in a fanless desktop or wall-mountable chassis. Choose the base 80F if you do not need the bypass pair, the 80F-DSL for a built-in VDSL/ADSL modem, or the 80F-PoE to power access points and phones.

Rack or wall-mount the 80F-Bypass desktop chassis with the RM-FR-T15 tray (shielded RM-FR-T15I for industrial cabinets). The two shared-media pairs accept GE SFP transceivers for fiber uplinks. The appliance ships with its external power adapter.
The 80F-Bypass adds a hardware fail-to-wire GE RJ45 port pair (WAN1 and Port1 by default). If the appliance loses power or reboots, the pair mechanically shorts so traffic keeps flowing through the link instead of dropping. This makes it suited to inline branch deployments where an outage during a fault or firmware update is unacceptable.
The 80F-Bypass is a current, shipping FortiGate ‘F’ series next-generation firewall built on the SoC4 security processor, with active FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions available. It is the bypass-equipped variant of the branch-class 80F line.
The 80F-Bypass delivers 10 Gbps firewall throughput, 1.4 Gbps IPS, 1 Gbps NGFW, 900 Mbps threat protection and 715 Mbps SSL inspection, with 1.5 million concurrent sessions and 45,000 new sessions per second — identical to the base 80F.
Two GE RJ45/SFP shared-media pairs, two GE RJ45 WAN ports (WAN1 plus Port1 form the bypass pair), six GE RJ45 internal ports and two GE RJ45 FortiLink ports, plus one USB 3.0 port and one RJ45 console port. It has a TPM and BLE, but no onboard SSD.
