Product description

For branch sites in regulated industries, the question often isn’t whether Enterprise services are needed — it’s whether a 5-year commitment fits before the site’s operational profile is fully established. The FG-40F-3G4G-BDL-809-36 gives organizations the full Enterprise security stack on the FortiGate 40F-3G4G for three years, covering every FortiGuard service including DLP, OT Security, and CASB, while keeping the term aligned to a typical branch lease or evaluation cycle rather than a 5-year horizon.

What This Bundle Includes

This SKU ships the FortiGate 40F-3G4G appliance alongside a 3-year Enterprise Protection subscription. Enterprise is the top-tier FortiGuard bundle and includes every service available for this platform:

  • Intrusion Prevention, Advanced Malware Protection, Application Control — core threat prevention across network and file-based threats
  • URL, DNS, and Video Filtering — web threat blocking with a 300M+ URL database and DNS-layer protection
  • Antispam — email filtering against phishing, spam, and malware-laden attachments
  • Data Loss Prevention — detects and blocks exfiltration of sensitive data across network, cloud, and user traffic
  • OT Security — deep-packet inspection of ICS and SCADA protocols, protecting operational technology equipment from network-borne threats
  • CASB — cloud access security brokering for SaaS visibility, policy enforcement, and data governance
  • SOCaaS — Fortinet-managed 24×7 threat monitoring and incident response
  • IoT Detection — automated identification and risk scoring of connected IoT and unmanaged devices
  • Attack Surface Management — continuous assessment of exposed assets and vulnerabilities
  • FortiCare Premium — 24×7 TAC support, firmware updates, and hardware replacement entitlement

Why Enterprise Instead of UTP

The decision between UTP and Enterprise comes down to compliance obligations and the nature of what is connected at the site. UTP covers the core daily threat mix: network intrusion, malware, application misuse, web threats, and email. Enterprise adds the services that regulated or data-sensitive environments require: DLP for data exfiltration prevention, OT Security for industrial equipment protection, CASB for cloud SaaS governance, and SOCaaS for sites that want managed monitoring without a dedicated in-house SOC. For a branch site taking on processing, OT connectivity, or cloud governance responsibilities over the 3-year term, Enterprise is the right starting point rather than something to add later.

Who Deploys This Configuration

The 3-year Enterprise bundle on the 40F-3G4G fits a specific type of branch: one with compliance requirements or OT equipment that also needs cellular WAN resilience. Healthcare network branches that handle patient records, financial service locations with data handling obligations, manufacturing or utilities sites with OT equipment sharing a segment with IT infrastructure — these are the environments where the 40F-3G4G-BDL-809-36 addresses real requirements rather than optional features. The 3-year term works for sites in medium-term leases or for organizations testing the Enterprise stack across a subset of their branch fleet before a larger rollout.

Other Terms and Models

Enterprise Protection on the FortiGate 40F-3G4G is also available as a 1-year bundle (FG-40F-3G4G-BDL-809-12) or a 5-year bundle (FG-40F-3G4G-BDL-809-60). For UTP-level protection on the same hardware, see FG-40F-3G4G-BDL-950-36 (3yr) or FG-40F-3G4G-BDL-950-60 (5yr). The FGR-60F-3G4G is the next hardware tier for sites requiring IEC 61850-3 certification in industrial environments.

Buying From DataCenter360.ca

All hardware at DataCenter360.ca ships from our Canadian warehouse: no brokerage fees, no import delays, and the invoice is in Canadian dollars. As a Fortinet Select Partner and authorized MSSP, we are authorized to sell and support the full FortiGate 40F-3G4G lineup, including hardware-only units, UTP and Enterprise bundles at every term, and standalone service renewals for units already in the field. We also assist with FortiCare registration and co-terming questions. Contact us for multi-site pricing on this configuration.

What does OT Security provide that standard IPS does not?

Standard IPS covers IT protocol threats. OT Security extends deep-packet inspection to industrial protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, and others used by PLCs, RTUs, and SCADA systems. It also includes OT-specific threat signatures maintained by FortiGuard Labs. For a site with building management, energy systems, or industrial controls on the same network as IT, OT Security allows the firewall to understand and protect both traffic types rather than treating OT protocols as opaque or unprotected flows.

Does this bundle include FortiCare Premium for the entire 3-year term?

Yes. FortiCare Premium is included as part of the Enterprise entitlement for the full 3 years. It covers 24×7 TAC access, all firmware releases during the term, and hardware replacement in the event of a device failure. FortiCare is required to maintain Fortinet support and receive OS updates, so it expires at the same time as the rest of the Enterprise subscription.

Can I renew at the UTP tier instead of Enterprise when this term ends?

Yes. At the 3-year expiry you can choose any available service tier for the renewal: UTP (FC-10-F40FG-950-02-12/36/60), Enterprise (FC-10-F40FG-809-02-12/36/60), or other individual service SKUs. There is no obligation to stay at Enterprise. If your site’s compliance requirements have changed or reduced by the time the term ends, you can adjust the tier at renewal. DataCenter360.ca carries the full renewal lineup for the 40F-3G4G.

How does the dual-SIM LTE modem benefit a regulated branch site?

For sites with compliance reporting obligations or SOC connectivity requirements, internet availability is not optional. The dual-SIM modem gives the firewall a cellular fallback path that activates automatically when the primary wired connection degrades, keeping the site connected to compliance systems, remote SOC monitoring, and centralized management infrastructure. Two SIM slots allow two carriers to be active simultaneously for additional resilience.

What is the difference between the 3-year and 5-year Enterprise bundles?

The security services are identical in both. The difference is term length and total cost. The 5-year bundle (FG-40F-3G4G-BDL-809-60) has a lower per-year cost and eliminates renewal events for 5 years. The 3-year bundle fits sites where the hardware lifecycle is tied to a 3-year lease, where the branch is being piloted before a broader rollout, or where management prefers shorter commitment cycles. Both provide the same full Enterprise security stack throughout their respective terms.
