Data center environments built on DC power infrastructure have a narrow pool of high-performance NGFWs to choose from. The FortiGate 3001F-DC delivers 36 Gbps IPS throughput and 34 Gbps NGFW throughput from a 2RU chassis powered by dual 48-60VDC hot-swap power supplies. It ships with 2x 960GB SSD onboard — the key hardware distinction from the FG-3000F-DC, which carries no onboard storage. This SKU is hardware only; a FortiGuard subscription is ordered separately.
The FG-3001F-DC ships with the appliance chassis, two hot-swappable DC power supplies (48-60VDC, 1+1 redundancy), and two SFP+ SR 10GE transceivers. No FortiGuard license and no FortiCare subscription are included — those are ordered separately as bundles or individual service SKUs from DataCenter360.ca.

* Requires Hyperscale Firewall License.
Three deployment profiles drive most FG-3001F-DC purchases: carrier-class edge security, large enterprise data center cores, and facilities where DC power from battery plants or rectifiers is standard. The 1.92TB of onboard SSD supports high-volume local logging without a separate FortiAnalyzer appliance — practical when compliance mandates on-premises log retention. The NP7 processor enables hyperscale CGNAT with the optional Hyperscale Firewall License, accelerates VXLAN termination for east-west segmentation, and handles up to 200,000 client-to-gateway IPsec VPN tunnels at 105 Gbps, making it viable as a head-end concentrator for large SD-WAN deployments as well.
This hardware-only SKU ships without any active subscription. Pair it with a FortiGuard bundle — UTP or Enterprise in 1-, 3-, or 5-year terms — or individual service renewals to activate IPS, antivirus, URL filtering, and FortiCare Premium support. The hardware-only path is common in device-refresh scenarios where existing licenses transfer to the replacement chassis, or where procurement and licensing are handled on separate purchase orders.
Network architects and security teams at ISPs, large enterprises, and government agencies that standardize on DC-powered data center equipment are the primary buyers. The -DC designation is not cosmetic: this appliance requires a DC power plant, so it is not a fit for facilities running AC power only. The FG-3001F (without -DC) covers AC environments with identical performance specs.
DataCenter360.ca is an authorized Fortinet Select Partner and ships the FortiGate 3001F-DC brand new from Canadian warehouse stock with free shipping in 0-1 business days. Requests for this appliance are handled as a priority — our team turns large-appliance quotes around quickly.
The two models share identical interface counts, ASIC configuration, SSD storage, and performance specs. The only hardware difference is the power supply type: FG-3001F ships with two AC power supplies (100-240V AC), while FG-3001F-DC ships with two DC power supplies (48-60VDC). Choose the DC variant for telecom and data center environments using battery plant or rectifier power; use the FG-3001F for standard AC power facilities.
No. This is a hardware-only SKU. FortiGuard security services and FortiCare technical support are not included and must be ordered separately. DataCenter360.ca sells matching bundles in 1-, 3-, and 5-year UTP and Enterprise terms, as well as standalone FortiCare and FortiGuard renewals to pair with this appliance.
Hardware ships within Canada only. If you need a FortiGate 3001F-DC delivered internationally, contact Fortinet’s regional distributor for your country.
