The two shared media WAN ports each accept one active connection — copper RJ45 or SFP transceiver, not both simultaneously. The same FortiOS interface configuration applies either way. The 1.5 million concurrent session capacity is notably higher than the 70G’s 1.4 million and the 60F’s 700,000, making the 80F a better fit for branches with heavy VPN or cloud-application workloads.

Buying the FG-80F as hardware only lets you select the FortiGuard service tier and term that match your branch risk profile. ATP (811), UTP (950), and Enterprise (809) subscriptions are available in 1-, 3-, and 5-year terms under the FC-10-0080F- prefix. For one-transaction convenience, FG-80F hardware bundles ship the unit and license together. SFP transceivers for the WAN ports are separate regardless of the purchase path.
